Cheating on your diet during holidays – Is it okay?

Happy 4th of July!

Today, food and drinks are at the center of celebrations, and if you’re someone who’s working hard toward their fitness goals, you might feel that little nagging voice whispering: “Should I really be eating this?”

Trust me, I get it. I’ve been dedicated to fitness for over 10 years, and I’ve felt that exact same guilt during holidays.

But here’s what I want to tell you—and it’s something I remind my girls all the time:

It’s okay. You deserve to enjoy days like this.

Why “Cheating” Doesn’t Ruin Your Progress

First things first: one day won’t ruin your progress.

You can celebrate, indulge in a burger or dessert, have a drink with friends, and still stay on track with your fitness goals. Fitness isn’t about perfection—it’s about balance.

In fact, trying to be too strict can backfire. If you deny yourself all the time, you’ll start to feel frustrated, unmotivated, and, eventually, you might quit altogether.

Think about it: What’s the point of a strong, sexy body if you can’t live your life and enjoy the moments that matter?

I’ve celebrated countless holidays and special occasions while staying on track with my fitness goals. I still reach my dream body goals—and so can you.

Guilt-Free Tip: Focus on the Big Picture

Here’s something I always tell my girls:

If you’ve already committed to your fitness journey, enjoying one day with a few extra calories won’t undo your hard work.

If you haven’t started yet, don’t sweat it. There’s no better time to take that first step than now.

Think about the months ahead—August and September are coming up. These months are perfect for making progress because there are fewer holidays and distractions.

You’ve got 2-3 months to focus on yourself, build strong habits, and achieve a life-changing transformation before October rolls around with more festivities.

You don’t have to skip today’s celebrations or start running to the gym this very minute.

But if you take even a small step for yourself today, you’ll enjoy your holiday guilt-free and feel proud of yourself.
